Transfer:
Let us help you preserve your film for you to enjoy & pass down to your future generations. We have 26 years of experience in transferring film & will work with you to create the project that's right for you. Feel free to call, e-mail, or bring your film in for a free written estimate. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
We do all work in house. Your film never leaves the facility & is always returned to you, in better shape than when you bring it in. It is recommended that you store your film in a cool & dry location.
Our transfer process starts with a full inspection of your film. We will repair & splice broken spots as needed, and consolidate the film on larger 400 ft. reels if not already spliced together. We then clean the film using a special film cleaner that also polishes & waxes the film to further extend it's life. This also ensures a smooth, clear & sharp transfer. The film is digitized (without projecting) straight into our editing software, continuously monitoring to ensure that color & brightness are as consistent as possible throughout the film.
Once your transfer is complete, any unexposed film is edited out. If transferred to DVD, chapter markers and a menu with scene selections are added. We can also transfer your movies to digital files for your external hard drive to further archive and edit yourself, if you wish.
Additional editing services are available to further customize your project, with hardly any limits! After your film is imported, simply make an appointment, where you'll sit with our friendly staff in a comfortable environment as we go through your film on the computer. You may want to add titles at the beginning of your reels, or subtitle over the film to identify family members or places. We can also edit out unwanted scenes, and/or arrange them so they are in chronological order.
You may also wish to add narration, still photos, slides, or other media formats, or color correct film that has shifted from chemical breakdown over time. For more complex projects such as this, we are fully prepared to assist you with our professional editing facilities to suit any of your advanced needs.
We are able to transfer your film to any format- consumer or broadcast quality, or straight to your hard drive with full quality Quicktime files.
Our staff uses the utmost care in handling your family's history and take great pride and interest in creating your home movie memories.
